The Sisters of Mercy have worked in partnership with the working poor of the Tioga-Nicetown community for more than 35 years resulting in adult and child care programs. In 1997 Mercy Neighborhood Ministries (MNM) was founded and incorporated in 2003. In 2004 an abandoned warehouse was purchased and renovated into a ‘green building’. In 2009 the Mercy Family Center opened its doors as the first USBGC silver-level certified green building in North Philadelphia and one of just nine silver-level certified in the city.
